I qualified as a solicitor in 1992, since when I have specialised exclusively in family law. I have worked in and around Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Suffolk, and Essex being both a partner and heading up Family departments.
Accredited as a specialist family lawyer by the Law Society, by having membership of The Advanced Family Law Panel and The Children Panel, means that I am able to undertake the full range of family law matters. I act for clients in all types of financial and divorce matters and also all types of children cases. Being a member of the Children Panel means that I am able to act for Children – either directly or through a Children’s Guardian.
Although we are unable to take on legal aid cases, my considerable experience undertaking care cases, means that I have expertise in acting for Parents, Grandparents and other relatives. Sometimes a Local Authority will fund legal advice for such cases where legal aid is unavailable. I also act in Adoption matters, as well as private law children matters involving a Children’s Guardian and a Local Authority.
Having trained as a mediator with Resolution I adopt a collaborative approach to my cases while maintaining the focus on securing the very best outcome for my clients. I recognise that the first contact with a family solicitor can be very daunting and at a time when it can be difficult to see a way forward . I will talk to you about your case and the likely cost involved, and whether part of the work can be carried out at a fixed fee and other options as to how cost can be managed. I can offer a first appointment for a fixed fee, without obligation.
As well as offering appointments in our Hertford Office, I am able to meet with clients at our consultation rooms in Cambridge, Duxford, Stansted and Chelmsford. If telephone appointments are easier for you outside of our usual office hours, then I am happy to undertake these. When you are ready to move forward – I will be ready to help you

JR – client

CW – opposing solicitor
"Thank you very much for your help over this matter. Considering how difficult I had found previous solicitors, both with giving me accurate information and not responding or doing anything without several reminders, it was very good to have your support and proficient service. I particularly appreciated having written details from our first meeting. It is impossible to remember everything when you're thrown into a stressful situation. I felt very reassured and that I could rely on you to give me the information I needed and to deal with things very quickly. Divorce is never easy but it went through as we had hoped, smoothly and without greed or aggression on either side. Now it is over I feel that I can get on with building my new life. I have already recommended you to friends."
SR – client
"Thank you so much for all your help. We have all come through unscathed."
