Prenuptial Agreement
For those intending to marry, a prenuptial agreement or ‘prenup’ as its often called may protect you from financial loss in the unlikely event of your marriage not lasting. A prenuptial agreement is not absolutely legally binding in England & Wales but it is still highly recommended when for example one party has substantial assets and the other party does not.
A prenuptial agreement is not romantic but it does often provide a solution to a situation where for example but for the prenuptial agreement a marriage between two financially unequal parties may not have been possible due to family pressure. Those approaching a second marriage may have a particular need to enter into a prenuptial agreement.
Our fees for advising and drafting a prenuptial agreement are modest in comparison to the potential cost of a contested divorce.
